About School

The Foundation for Hearing Research has been dedicated to supporting children and families with hearing loss for 57 years. Established in 1967 by eight families who believed their deaf children could learn to listen, speak, and learn, the organization has evolved into a center of excellence with a sophisticated curriculum and specialized staff. Over the decades, the Foundation has been at the forefront of innovations in hearing technology and educational approaches for the deaf and hard of hearing. Key milestones include hiring a visionary teacher of the deaf as the first executive director, welcoming the first student with a cochlear implant, and expanding services to young children with cochlear implants. The organization has also launched innovative programs like BabyTalk to provide teleintervention services and the Talk2Me coach-assisted parent app. Today, the Foundation for Hearing Research employs a team of highly qualified teachers, speech-language pathologists, and specialists who are passionate about their work. They offer a range of programs including family-centered education, innovative technology, and a proven spoken language and cognitive development curriculum to transform the lives of children with hearing loss.
