At Beacon School, the measure of success is the success of its students. Beacon School is designed to serve and nurture students who require emotional and academic support to participate successfully in a classroom setting. Founded in 1970 to expand educational opportunities for special education students, Beacon School specializes in preparing its students to transition to public school and/or vocational opportunities. As Beacon School has progressed over the years, it has continued to develop new ways to assist its students and school districts. The school has expanded its opportunities to support students through its Therapeutic Support Service Program, a collaborative effort with various school districts. This program allows students to transition to a comprehensive campus or remain in the least restrictive setting to obtain an education. Beacon School offers a therapeutic educational environment designed to meet the needs of special education students with emotional disturbance, autism spectrum disorder, and other disabilities that may affect their behavior in the school setting. The school provides a full curriculum, individualized instruction, credentialed teachers, and licensed therapists to support its students’ academic and emotional needs.
